I need to upgrade our lotus Domino 6.5 server running on windows to run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux server. Per the IBM software downloads I have following download options:
CI1LBEN - IBM Lotus Domino V8.5.3 32 bit Linux for xSeries English - 610 MB
CI1LCEN - IBM Lotus Domino V8.5.3 64 bit Linux for zSeries English - 598 MB
The server hardware is HP/Intel (Not IBM hardware) and would prefer to run RHEL 6 vs RHEL 5.
Questions:
1.) I found on the IBM website that Domino 8.5.3 is supported on OS RHEL 6. Has anyone successfully installed 8.5.3 server on Red hat (RHEL 6) Enterprise ? Is this really supported ? Or is RHEL 5 still recommended ?
2.) Am I correct in assuming that I need to use the xSeries (32bit) in order to install in this case ? (or should it be a different install package ? per the documentation I found 64bit version is only supported on zSeries IBM hardware)
Thanks!
